Ljubojno
The village of Ljubojno is located in the southern part of the Municipality of Resen, about 2 km east of Lake Prespa, and 28 km away from the town of Resen. The Brajcinska River flows through the area of the village, aquifer, fast and clear and on which 16 mills worked until the years of the Ilinden Uprising. Village houses, built between the two world wars, are adorned with finely carved stone, colorful facades on which hang spacious balconies.
The village is first mentioned in a charter of Tsar Dusan from 1337 when he donated the village church of St. Nikola to the monastery Treskavec. Later, Ljubojno is mentioned again in an inscription of the Slivnica Monastery from 1607, as a larger Macedonian settlement.
In historical sources, this village is recorded as Ljubovino. This coincides with a legend according to which the imo came after the first inhabited meandzika Ljuba, who poured very nice wine. When customers entered the tavern, they loudly ordered "Ljubo, wine".
Another version of the name according to folklore, Ljubojno got its name from the word love. Specifically, a boy and a girl from the neighboring neighborhoods fell in love a long time ago, but due to poor neighborly relations between the residents of the neighborhoods, the young people were not allowed to marry. However, they decided to get married and run away. They settled near the river and remained happy to live. Later, other families moved near the place of the lovers and, because of that, they named the place Ljubojno.
