So far, over 147 species of vascular plants (ferns and flowers) have been registered in NP Ezerani, including those that have limited distribution in R.N. Macedonia. For example, the waterwheel plant (Aldrovanda vesiculosa) in R.N. Macedonia is observed only in NP Ezerani. Other rare species include the aquatic fern (Salvinia natans) and the water caltrop (Trapa natans) which are protected by the Bern Convention. Among the rare plant species in NP Ezerani should be included 48 species of endemic diatomaceous algae, of which 15 are found only in Lake Prespa while the others inhabit Lake Ohrid.
