In Ljubojno, "Suroa" is celebrated in the evening opposite Vasilica, near Polena (in the middle of the village). In the evening a big fire is lit and a table is served on which the main part of the meal is brought by the "godfather", hot rakija is served and in the evening it develops into a folk party in which the village functions as a spiritual whole. The community is chasing the bad things of the year that is leaving and celebrating the new year. Early in the morning on the day of Vasilica, little carolers go around the village houses and sing appropriate songs, and the hosts present them with gifts in sweets, fruits and coins.
