Path 3: Brajcino – Great Lake – Nizepole

The path starts from the extreme eastern part, at the exit from the village Brajcino to the peak Pelister and moves along the forest road that leads to the old sawmill.   After about 2 km away from the village, the river crosses the bridge in the immediate vicinity of the church of St. Ilija.   Passing by the church through the overgrown area with oak and beech trees, it follows the course of the Brajcinska river. The trail is fully marked with signposts.   Leaving the forest, he goes to the open part of the mountain. The road leads us over the forest belt next to a small fountain and an abandoned sheepfold below the Marusica peak.   From here, through several serpentines in a zigzag line, you reach the locality called Panorama where you leave the area of the village Brajcino.   In addition, it heads to the saddle in front of Orlovi Bari and from there through the so-called A French road from the First World War reaches the Great Lake. The time required to walk this 17 km long trail is about 6 hours.   There are several paths from the Great Lake to the village of Nizepole.   Visitors without much experience in the mountains, it is best to use the one that descends along the river Sapundzica.   In that case we return to Orlovi Bari and from there we continue down the well-marked path.   The descent is performed on the right side of the river all the way to the cable car with the ski slopes.   From here to the village Nizepole we continue on the asphalt road.   Marked path by NP Galicica. The movement takes place on a forest road through oaks, and in the higher part tall beech forests. The best time to move on this trail is from May to October. No great physical fitness is required.
